Over the past year, the Access Division team has been working diligently to offer as many opportunities and communication channels for individuals experiencing emotional distress to receive the help and support they deserve.
The agency received funding from the UpSwing Foundation to focus on creating a texting platform with an emphasis on reaching out to LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC youth.
We are proud to announce that The Emotional Support Text Line recently went live!
Text support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Clients in need can text SUPPORT to 832-479-2135 to be connected to a Text Responder who has had specialized training.

The Harris Center is operating the 24/7 statewide COVID-19 mental health support line launched by Texas Health and Human Services. The support line offers trauma-informed support and psychological first aid to those experiencing stress and anxiety related to COVID-19.

Making a difference in a child or adolescent’s life is not always easy, but the staff of the Mental Health Forensic Services Division at The Harris Center strives to do just that every day. Through a variety of programs, children and adolescents who are involved in the juvenile justice system in Harris County receive treatment and services that address some of the root causes that led them there in the first place.
