On Thursday, February 4th, Have Shears Will Travel began providing free haircuts to our men and women served at our 6160 location. The RV will return on the first Thursday of every month.
Have Shears Will Travel is a non-profit hair care service that will travel on-site to serve the needs of clients unable to go to a salon or barber shop due to physical disabilities, lack of transportation or inability to pay for service. ​They currently serve the clients of Family Promise, HAAM, Family Time, Angela House , Mission of Yahweh, Covenant House, Bering Omega, Harbor Hospice, Open Door Mission, SEARCH, Santa Maria Hostel, Kingwood Rehab, Salvation Army Family Residence, St. Joseph's House, Cullen Adult Day Care and Lord of the Streets.

The Harris Center is happy to announce the third new location providing Saturday services for adults to enroll in ongoing mental health care. The Southeast location on (5901 Long Dr Houston, TX 77087) is the newest addition to the two other sites providing this service on Saturday: (9401 Southwest Freeway and 3737 Dacoma St Houston, TX 77092). The Southeast Community Service Center will begin enrolling adults on Saturdays starting April 27, 2019.
Continuing our goal of increasing access to care, The Harris Center is happy to add a new Saturday location for adults to enroll in ongoing mental health care. The Saturday enrollment service for adults kicked in January this year at our Southwest Community Service Center (9401 Southwest Freeway, Houston). The Northwest Community Service Center will also provide this service starting Saturday, March 23, 2019.

In partnership with Walgreens, we recently held two successful COVID-19 vaccination clinics at our 9401 Southwest Freeway location.
We are pleased to announce the expansion of The Harris Center's Primary Care Services, in close partnership with The University of Houston's College of Medicine. This service is designed to help clients reach health-related goals, provide access to health coaching, offer healthcare screenings, transportation to and from your scheduled healthcare visits and so much more.
Anyone who has lived in Houston for a little over a week has come across people who speak a language other than English. As one of the most diverse cities of the world, Houston is home to people from all the continents, and a substantial portion of them are not fluent in English. These individuals make up a significant amount of Harris Center clientele.
