Dr. Mireya Hansen was recently named Medical Director of Forensics.Dr. Hansen has been serving as interim Medical Director since the summer of 2021. She provided outstanding leadership for not only the Harris Center’s Forensics Department but the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) Jail.
The Harris Center is happy to announce the third new location providing Saturday services for adults to enroll in ongoing mental health care. The Southeast location on (5901 Long Dr Houston, TX 77087) is the newest addition to the two other sites providing this service on Saturday: (9401 Southwest Freeway and 3737 Dacoma St Houston, TX 77092). The Southeast Community Service Center will begin enrolling adults on Saturdays starting April 27, 2019.
The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD received $836,243 from the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) COVID-19 Telehealth Program to enhance its telehealth service infrastructure. The FCC received funding for this program through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, also known as the CARES Act. The FCC funds will enable The Harris Center to further expand access to behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disabilities services for Harris County residents via telehealth platforms.
The Harris Center has exciting news to share: Adult enrollment for ongoing care at our mental health outpatient clinics is now taking place also on Saturdays!

Continuing our goal of increasing access to care, The Harris Center is happy to add a new Saturday location for adults to enroll in ongoing mental health care. The Saturday enrollment service for adults kicked in January this year at our Southwest Community Service Center (9401 Southwest Freeway, Houston). The Northwest Community Service Center will also provide this service starting Saturday, March 23, 2019.

We are pleased to announce the expansion of The Harris Center's Primary Care Services, in close partnership with The University of Houston's College of Medicine. This service is designed to help clients reach health-related goals, provide access to health coaching, offer healthcare screenings, transportation to and from your scheduled healthcare visits and so much more.
